Full size violin of German origin circa 1870 - 1880. 'Jacobus Stainer' model labelled 'Jacobus Stainer in Absam prope Oenipontum 1618'.
I had the violin valued in 2000 by Unison Strings (Birmingham) and the comment made was "This instrument is a good representation of the quality of workmanship attained at its best in a small workshop environment at the end of the 1870s. It is a faithful copy and presents no faults of structure or repairs of any kind".
Violin valued at £500 in year 2000. Taking into consideration inflation, bow and case, selling at £650 (offers will be considered). Original copy of valuation letter held and can easily be provided.
I'm sad to say goodbye to my violin but I no longer play so time for somebody else to enjoy this violin.
