German violin Markneukirchen School

Recently repaired by Eugenie Degan - Cambridge Luthier - this German violin of the Markneukirchen School is inscribed with the signature "Hermann Dolling Jr" and would be ideal for an advanced student of perhaps Grade 7 or 8 standard. The instrument dates from around 1900 - 1910 and is of a golden orange colour. It has a two piece back of light flamed maple, neck and scroll of matching medium flamed maple and front made of 2 pieces of medium flamed spruce, and is in perfect structural condition.

It belonged to my uncle but since his death in the mid 1980s it has sat in it's case in a cupboard. Recently I decided to have it repaired and it is now ready to be played and loved by someone!

It now has a new sound post and bridge and new strings, the back joint has been repaired  and the instrument has had a full clean and polish
